Just a little sprinkle of fall decor!

The entry way is one of my favorite spaces to design because it really sets the tone for the rest of the house. Ironically, it is also one of the last spaces I work on because I kind of like to make sure it matches the rest of the house while simultaneously enhancing it. The entry way is such an easily overlooked space, but if it is done well it can really turn into one of the most stunning rooms of the whole project. Even small entries can get some love too, you just have to be a bit more creative 😉

Bar carts are a fun way to bring a little pizzazz to a space. They are very versatile because you don’t necessarily have to fill the cart with alcohol if you don’t want to. There are plenty of other design pieces to use instead if that is more your style!

Is anyone else a progressive fall decorator? 😂🙋🏼‍♀️

Holiday decorating is something people ask about frequently. Should I go all out or just be minimal? Should I decorate for every holiday or just a few? So many questions. My philosophy is decorate to your personal preference. If you want to decorate for Halloween only and no other holiday, go for it. If you want to minimally decorate for every holiday, that’s cool too. I think the holiday seasons are so fun that there shouldn’t be “rules” on how to and not to decorate for something that should be a joyful time. Have fun and decorate to your liking and don’t worry about hypothetical “rules” 👊🏼💖

Monday’s have grown to become my favorite work week day. I know most people may disagree, but I find Monday’s to be peaceful and a chance to start the work week off on the right foot.

Design elements such as natural wood tones and neutral black and white mixed with some greenery are my go to palette to bring a calming atmosphere to a space.
✨
✨
Also, washable rugs under dining tables are a must! There are plenty of rug options that are still beautiful and aesthetically pleasing while the washable aspect makes it easy to literally just throw it in the washing machine if (and when) spills happen!

Mood boards for the win! I love being able to utilize this feature as one of my first steps when I start working with a client. This feature allows for all of us to get on the same page for design theme and color scheme, so that no one is surprised by the final layout.

When styling bookshelves, we like to keep a mix of beauty and practicality. It’s tempting to remove all practical elements in the shelf (AKA books) just to make it look more aesthetically pleasing. While we all love to look at beautiful things, we like to marry that concept with the practicality of leaving the books in! After all, bookshelves are meant to hold books 📚 🤓

Artwork is really important for making a space feel more homey. It can be as personal as you want it to be, and it always elevates a space. Bare walls have their place, but generally speaking they make a space feel less inviting and vacant.

“Perfect is the enemy of done”

I’ve found myself wrestling with this concept a lot since starting my own business. Being a typical type A perfectionist, sometimes I get caught in the cycle of everything has to be perfect before moving forward. I have recently learned that just taking baby steps, whether they are perfect or not, still gets you closer to your goal than if you were to stand by and do nothing. I’ve been reminded today that life is too short, so don’t wait for everything to be perfect.
