Canned mushrooms - Yum or WTF?

Honestly I don't cook with canned mushrooms, I grab fresh, but are they an option in your kitchen?

Canned mushrooms are cheap, convenient, and versatile. Here's why you should keep them on hand and how to use them.

Everything goes in one pan. The pasta cooks right in the sauce and the starch it releases thickens everything naturally. No boiling a separate pot, no draining.
๐Ÿ ONE-PAN PASTA WITH ITALIAN SAUSAGE
INGREDIENTS
1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
12 oz linguine or spaghetti
1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, diced
3 cups chicken broth
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper
Fresh basil and parmesan to finish
INSTRUCTIONS
Brown the sausage in a large deep skillet over medium-high, breaking it up as it cooks. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan cook onion until softened, about 4 minutes. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook one more minute.
Add crushed tomatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a boil.
Add the dry pasta directly into the liquid. Push it down until submerged. Return sausage to the pan.
Cook uncovered over medium heat, stirring every 2 minutes, for 9-11 minutes until pasta is cooked and sauce has thickened.
Finish with fresh basil and parmesan. Serve straight from the pan.
The pasta starch does the work here. Don't add extra liquid or you'll end up with soup instead of sauce.

A bone-in pork chop with a hard sear in butter. No sauce needed, no complicated technique. Just a properly cooked piece of meat.
๐Ÿณ CRISPY PAN-FRIED PORK CHOPS
INGREDIENTS
2 bone-in pork chops, at least 1 inch thick
3 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, smashed
Fresh thyme
Salt and pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
Pull your chops out of the fridge 30 minutes before cooking. Cold meat straight into a hot pan cooks unevenly.
Pat them completely dry and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
Get your cast iron hot over medium-high. Add butter and let it start to foam.
Lay the chops in and don't touch them for 4 minutes. You want a deep golden crust before you flip.
Flip once. Add garlic and thyme to the pan. Tilt and baste with the butter for the next 3-4 minutes.
Pull them at 140ยฐF internal temp and rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
Thick chops only. Thin pork chops overcook before they get a crust and that's where they get their bad reputation.
What are you serving with yours? ๐Ÿ‘‡
