Do you know about SKS (Signature Kitchen Suite)? I had the pleasure of attending a training event at their Englewood HQ last week and was blown away. This is LG’s high end appliance line for what they have branded “the technicurian” - the home chef who loves to cook and is tech forward and savvy. They have thought of everything and the styling is as beautiful as the appliances are luxe and crazy smart.

Fun highlights——
Fridges that make circle ice
Ranges that have a sous vide function
Cooktops w gas and induction in one
Matte & polished handle options
Custom cutting boards to cover the ugly griddles
The list goes on….

The day was filled with learning, some new designer friends and the most delicious lunch prepared by chef Sean!
I have to say the speed by which induction heats things is mind blowing. I might just end up a convert.

This was a really satisfying Maplewood bathroom reno project. This lovely young family needed a major upgrade. We optimized every inch of the space and solved for all sorts of weird conditions. These changes allowed for improved clearance space around the vanity and a bigger shower. The shower feature wall is the perfect playful balance to this otherwise simple and timeless palette. It’s equal parts groovy and preppy (in the way us elders use the term).

Note the slippers are mine and are my absolute favorites. She upcycles designer stuff (in this case an hermes scarf) onto things like ugg slippers and birkenstocks.

I have always been a big believer in community. Interior design as a solopreneur can be really isolating. There’s NO WATERCOOLER! Guess what? It doesn’t have to be that way. If you are doing this alone I invite you to become an ASID NJ member. There are several paths to membership and the community we’ve created is really wonderful. I got involved a few years ago when I didn’t believe networking was something that I needed, I was wrong. I stepped up to a leadership position when asked because I began to understand how important it is to be a part of a national organization devoted to our industry. If you’re curious please reach out. We are building something really valuable and I’d love to invite you all along for the ride. We are better- together!
