We enjoyed a little weekend away in Canton, Ohio. Aaron ran the Pro Football Hall of Fame half marathon and I was the chief cheerleading officer in charge of joy! He did amazing! I’m always so proud to be his wife.

I did giggle however, while he spent the day at the Hall of Fame I went to the National First Ladies Library & Museum and spent the day looking at dead people’s wallpaper and china and lived my best life. Ha.

We may not love all the same things (he still hasn’t convinced me to become a runner) but we do love each other. I’m grateful for 18 years of him!

Not every family uses their piano to play it. We certainly do not.

This is our library haul for this week. It’s actually a fairly light load for us.

Are you doing a local summer reading program? As a family we have logged over 7000 minutes in the four weeks the program has been going.

The last two books are two I really enjoyed! Top two are…
1. Calamity Club (a must read if you like historical fiction and stories from several points of view. Warning there are some as sad parts about the way women were treated historically)
2. This Book Made Me Think Of You (precious loved story with no s**t and a clever plot line)
3. Court of Mist and Fury. (Romantacy and great world building. S**t warning if that bothers you, skip those sections, it’s still a great story) this is book two of the series. I am reading for the second time through this summer to prepare for her new release.

The boys read lots of small books but for chapter books finished Island of the Blue Dolphins and To Kill a Mockingbird.

Day one of impromptu bathroom renovation eno! Totally gut job! Can we stay in a budget of $3k?! I think we can! It is going to take creativity and lots of elbow grease and muscle but I think we can!!!

The only items I already have are the sink and faucet. Those were bought 6.5 years ago when I had an adhd moment and planned to do it all myself but petered out. Ha! I didn’t get the floor and toilet done, which was the initial goal.

I’ll have to share the story sometime. I may or may not have just taken a hammer to the floor one day simply because I saw one cracked tile. (It was a whole thing! I don’t recommend)

Stick around. The hope is it is done in 3 weeks and under 3K!!! Let’s freaking go!!!

🫶🏻Avoid taking down the twinkle lights.
🫶🏻Be fine with a bit of a mess around the house.
🫶🏻Enjoy games with the family and if so add snacks and don’t feel bad for eating after 8 pm.
🫶🏻Go to bed early just because.
🫶🏻Start moving your body just because it feels good and not because it’s January first or because you need to look a certain way.
🫶🏻Stay in your pajamas all day!
🫶🏻Avoid those random impulse buys on social media because you are bored.
🫶🏻Cook a new recipe because you have the time. Even if it turns out crappy, who cares.
🫶🏻Just be.
🫶🏻Enjoy the little breath that is the week between Christmas and New Year.
