I met with Tina, the owner of Good Steward Refillary, yesterday. I'm excited about her vision for the shop, due to open in Longview early May. Her extensive experience and success in retail gives me confidence that she will create a great experience for patrons. Bonne Terre Pottery will be available in the shop. I have so many ideas about things to make....

I have been working with clay for over 25 years. The majority of those years I worked sporadically (making chunky, ugly stuff😆) while working full time and raising a family. Empty nest allowed more time for building skill. I started attending Texas Clay Festival (aka Clayfest) years ago and it has always been an amazing experience. 80+ amazing potters in one location, Gruene Tx (near New Braunfels) for one weekend selling their art and teaching other potters through demonstrations. As a pottery nerd, it has long been a dream of mine to be in the festival. It is a competitive juried show though and I knew I needed something different from my usual work to stand out and be accepted. So....I said a prayer that God would lend me his creativity and give me an idea that would be unique. Then I went for a walk and an idea popped in my head. It took quite a bit of fiddling and failures but I finally refined it enough that I was happy with the result. I submitted the required photos and waited impatiently to hear back from the jury. And.... BTP was accepted!!!! I know it might not seem like a big deal...but for this potter, it's a blessing and I am beyond excited! So, if you want something fun to do in a cool town....come to Gruene, Texas October 25-26 for Clayfest!
