Today is Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Day. It is a day to mark the birthday and honor Martin Luther King Jr., the chief spokesperson for nonviolent activism in the Civil Rights Movement, which protested racial discrimination in federal and state law.

Happy Juneteenth from Sunshine Home Designs!

Do you know the meaning behind the Juneteenth Flag?

The bursting outline around the star is inspired by a nova, a term that astronomers use to mean a new star. This represents a new beginning for the African Americans of Texas and throughout the land. The red, white and blue colors communicate that the American Slaves, and their descendants were all Americans.
