Meet Project Honor Honoree Samuel Colon 🇺🇸
Samuel Colon of Hammonton, NJ proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1983–1987, earning the Good Conduct Medal.
The last couple of years have brought Samuel more than his share of difficult circumstances. A work-related injury in 2024 eventually left him unable to return to work. In 2025, he was involved in a motor vehicle accident and later suffered a heart attack. Then, in May of this year, Samuel suffered another heart attack.
But what stood out to us when we met Samuel wasn't simply everything he has been through.
It was the way he was still looking up.
Samuel greeted us with gratitude, hope and a genuine appreciation for the people who have come alongside him.
And people have.
When the roof on the Hammonton home he shares with his two daughters continued to leak, members of his church stepped in and placed a tarp over the worst section to help protect the home.
Now, we have the privilege of coming alongside them too. ❤️
Our team surprised Samuel and his family with the news that they have been selected to receive a brand-new roofing system at no cost through Project Honor: Stars, Stripes & Shingles.
Samuel, thank you for your service to our country—and thank you for reminding us that difficult circumstances don't have to determine where we fix our eyes.
It is truly our honor to serve you and your family.
