This custom music box was crafted from solid wenge, chosen for its depth, strength, and quiet elegance. Mitred box joints provide both structural integrity and a seamless visual flow, while subtle curved lines soften the form. A silver inlay frames the lid, adding a restrained contrast to the dark wood.
Inside, a flocked compartment offers space for jewelry or other keepsakes. When the lid is opened, a mechanical lever automatically engages the music box, allowing the melody to begin without switches or electronics—just motion, timing, and intention.
Laser-engraved brass plaques inside the lid pay tribute to the client’s father, honoring a life well lived and a legacy carried forward through craft.
