There’s something special about a piece that tells a story… and this one has a great one.

I recently had the pleasure of working closely with a customer on a truly unique custom build. After going back and forth on ideas, we landed on a design using authentic whiskey barrel staves paired with Blanton’s bourbon bottles they personally supplied.

But here’s the best part…

This wasn’t just a custom light—it was a surprise birthday gift for the husband.

While the couple was out for dinner, a friend installed the fixture so it would be the first thing he saw when they walked back in. Imagine coming home to that reveal.

That’s what I love about what I do—these pieces aren’t just lighting, they become part of someone’s story.

Another set heading out the door—this time to Florida.

Just finished up four of these pendant lights, each one handcrafted with metal pulleys, vintage twisted wire and metal cages.

Three of these just headed out to Colorado… and they’re ready for the elements 🌲❄️

This was a custom request for an outdoor version of one of my bourbon barrel stave lights. To make sure it holds up outside, I finished it with multiple coats of marine-grade varnish, paired it with stainless steel mounting hardware, and installed an outdoor-rated light fixture.

Same character. Same history in the wood. Just built to handle whatever nature throws at it— feels right at home on a porch, entryway, or patio.

I'm working with a new material- this vintage well pulley is mounted on a piece of recycled railcar decking. Love the patina. Look closely and you can see the railroad spike I used as a hanger. What do you think, should I use this on a few other designs?

This winter weather has made it tough to get much done in the workshop.

I truly appreciate my customers’ patience as I work to catch up. Every Lumens and Lamps fixture is still handcrafted one at a time, with the same care and attention—just moving a little slower for a while.
