Haven't done a post in several months and I misplaced my cell phone almost 2 months ago. I haven't really missed it. It is probably in one of the boxes that we packed and moved during the closing of the old location. Cherie finally convinced me to get a new cell phone and to change carriers away from Verizon and into T-Mobile, which we did this afternoon. We have not found a new location and to be honest with you, haven't really been looking for one. Under the advice of legal acquaintances, I am not going to give any details of the fiasco of the final days at the old location as the internet posts can be a means of giving away strategy, or misinterpreted or convoluted by people not looking out for our best interests. My phone number is the same and it looks like I have several hundred calls, texts, and voicemails to respond to. Not tonight though. I have been dealing with some serious medical issues and need to make some decisions pretty soon about the future of Cherie's Antique Emporium. I have postponed a scheduled surgery for next week and may skip it altogether. 5 days in the hospital would drive me insane (or more insane than I already am), and I just don't really feel like being hacked open by a doctor. It is quite discomforting to see all these celebrities, sports stars, and my contemporaries dropping like flies and many of them are my age and younger. In any case, I will touch base with as many of you as I can in the next few days, and the only thing that I have to say is that it has really been peaceful for the last few months. Last day in the main part of the store. We could use some strong volunteers to help move and pack items in the store and to unload items at the storage units. Call Cherie at 804 432-3585. Will be at the store at 8:30 am today.

Calling all volunteers! We still have a ton of packing to do and could use all the help that we can get. Anyone that has boxes, packing material, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, and plastic totes that they don't need, donations would be much appreciated. We have a daunting task and about 8 days to accomplish it. The weather is not helping either, so anyone with a covered pick-up truck, covered trailer, box truck, SUV, etc., we could really use your help. Young guys with muscles and anyone who can wrap glass are sorely needed. Our volunteers have been wonderful thus far, but we need a small army right now. We love our customers and friends who are helping us weather this storm. Miracles can happen and we could use one right now. Any time that you can spare starting today through he 31st of May will be appreciated. Have a wonderful day and if you are bored, please stop in.

We had a lot of help packing today and can use all the help that we can get all weekend. I am so thankful for all of the friends that have volunteered. We need some muscle and folks with packing skills to keep me from being stupid and remember that I am not 19 any more. Not even 69 any more and the cardiologist reminds me every time that I see him that I am doing things that I shouldn't be doing. Anyway, we have lots of packing to do and lots of work ahead of us over the next 10 days. Thanks and have a great evening.

We will be at the store from 10 am on today. We are only open for folks that have items in mind. If you have seen something in the past that you have specifically wanted to buy, we will be happy to sell it to you. No browsers or shoppers as we don't have time to monitor our cameras or babysit people and their children. We have had many folks volunteer to help us pack and now is the time that we need you. We could use sure handed glass packers and strong people with muscles. Anyone with a trailer, box truck, or pick-up would be very useful. We still have furniture, pinball machines, the Whizzer, jukeboxes, scales, lawn furniture, lawn mowers, garden equipment, electronics, and thousands of other items that we would prefer to sell rather than pack. There are also counter displays, shelving, and actual counters for sale. If you come by, we will give you a price, take it or leave it. No negotiating, and don't waste everyone's time. Any volunteers, please report to Keith and we will get you assigned. We still have not found a new spot but hope to very soon. That's all that I have to report other than that we could use some hard workers that can follow directions immediately. Have a great day.

Today is the last day that we will be open to the public for retail sale on a general basis. We will keep you informed on this site of our progress in finding a new location. Between Monday and the end of the month we will be packing and transporting items to our storage units or to a new location if we can find one. We will still be available until May 31st for pick-ups or purchase of items that have not been packed up on an appointment basis only. We are still seeking volunteers for help with packing and loading, transporting, and unloading. Come in today and shop 'til you drop. The pinball machines, jukeboxes, whizzer motorbike, and millions of other items are still available today! Store hours are 10 am to 7 pm. Everything is 50% off today and when we move everything will return to our regular retail pricing. Same rules apply as before. If you want to bargain, browse, negotiate, or waste time, please stay at home. Serious shoppers only today!

Today is the next to last day that we will be open to the public at the Walnut Grove Rd. Location. Today and tomorrow 50% off everything in he store, hours 10 am to 7 pm. Still millions of items for sale. No negotiating, no bargaining, no nonsense. If you want to waste your time negotiating, just stay home and do i with yourself. We don't have time for browsers, entitled people, or others who think that they make the rules. Please drive carefully and we'll see you in just a little while.

Friday morning. Yesterday was a bit slow but it should pick up today. Mack and Rhonda did an great job of packing, boxing, and sealing glassware boxes. Ralph took several loads to our storage units. Lee has come in 2 days in a row and packed many boxes of glass. Cherie put together boxes and packed up hundreds of Mason and Ball Jars. Alex worked hard in our sort room and was able to restore some order to it. Today, tomorrow and Sunday will be the last 3 days at the Walnut Grove Rd location that we will be open to the public, and we are continuing the 50% off everything in the store sale. Store hours for all 3 days will be 10 am to 7 pm. We still need volunteers and if you show up to work, we will find things for you to do. Please come in over the next 3 days and take advantage of the huge sale prices and to say goodbye for a little while. Our sports card room is now closed and is in the process of being packed up. The NASCAR and Hot Wheels/Matchbox room will be started on today. The Avon will be packed up today and the books are in a continuous state of being transported to storage. If anyone has a box truck that they would like to lend us it would be fantastic, otherwise, we will be renting a large U-Haul next week. Large pick-up trucks and trailers are helpful too. We could use a few strong young fellows to do some of the heavy lifting and some ladies to help with the packing. There is still tons of items for sale and when we reopen, the prices will go back to our regular retail levels. Today is the best day to come by for the largest selection and the lowest prices. Thursday (tomorrow) is the first of the last 4 days that we will be open to the public at the Walnut Grove Rd location. We have decided to keep the 50% off everything in the store sale going. No additional discounts! No negotiating! We have started packing things up, will not unpack them, and the sooner that you come the more likely that the things you have seen in the past will still be in the store. We are still looking for volunteers to help with the packing and moving of items. We have still not found a new location, but are looking at all possibilities. Store hours for Thursday through Sunday will be 10 am to 7 pm. Have a great night and we will see you tomorrow!

Sunday morning! Happy Mother's Day. Today is the last and final day of our Estate Sale, 10 am to 7pm. We were extremely busy yesterday. Ron and his family stopped in yesterday and it was great to see them and meet some of them that we hadn't met before. Business was brisk and our helpers did a fine job of making things go smoothly. We once again, had a few people who didn't want to follow the rules and some of them didn't get in the building. We expect a busy day today, so please go to Estatesales.net and read the rules and requirements. If you don't want to follow the clearly posted rules, then please stay home. I won't go over them again here because we have posted them repeatedly and our security people politely point them out to those who are not in compliance. We caught a few instances of price stickers being changed, and a few con artists who tried to replace sports cards in different boxes and top loaders. The sports card room will be closed down permanently today and packing up of those items will start immediately. The short term plan is that we will be open for 1 more weekend, but we will be quickly packing up supplies and inventory before, during and after that period. We have not decided whether or not there will be any sales during our last weekend open but if we do have sales they will not be anywhere near as good as the 50% off everything in the store sale going on today. The inventory will be greatly reduced each day next Thursday through Sunday and the 17th will be the last day that we will be open to the public. We anticipate a busy day today and will have no time for any nonsense. If you are stupid, woke, a browser, or a troublemaker, just stay home and let us normal people conduct our business. To our wonderful and loyal customers we want to thank you for the years of loyal patronage and we hope to see all of you today. Please drive carefully. If we don't see you today, we hope to see you when we re-open at a new location.
