Thereā€™s a silence that comes after something ends and itā€™s louder than anything that came before it.

Just days ago, these halls held dreams.
Shelves stocked with intention.
People building something of their own.

Now itā€™s empty.

As I packed up my space, piece by piece, it settled in - this wasnā€™t just a closure.

It was thousands of small businesses across the country, suddenly without a home.
For many, without the income they depended on.

We say ā€œshop smallā€ like itā€™s a trend.
But itā€™s not. Itā€™s survival.

Because when you spend with a small business, a meaningful portion of that money goes right back into your community - into real lives, real families, real futures.
With big corporations, only a small fraction ever stays & it is not lost on me that a big corporate entity ran this marketplace into the ground less than two years after acquiring it.

Lights off.
Boxes packed.
Everything in storage.

But what was built here mattered.
And it still does.

Support small. It matters more than you think.

I hope everyone in the Painted Tree family that was affected finds peace and faith in the days to come.
It is not lostā€¦just redirected.

This is the last post I will make about Painted Tree, but just as Iā€™ve shared our growth and accomplishments - I think itā€™s important to share the struggles as well.
Iā€™ve cried, Iā€™ve done what needed to be done, but now Iā€™m ready for the next round.
God is greater than the highs & the lowsā€¦and I know the best is yet to come.
