We just completed a kitchen remodel in Cottage Grove that is one of the biggest transformations I’ve had the pleasure of designing. The before picture is a dated, dark, cramped space that didn’t work for the homeowner on any level. The new improved kitchen is open, bright, inviting, and check out the huge island that seats 5 comfortably.

Here's a behind the scenes look at how the studio reception desk was created. To keep the cost down, I started with a prefabricated basic desk from Wayfair. It came flat packed with much assembly required. My amazing husband built the custom wood front and side to build up the desk surround to transaction height. Then a dark stain and several coats of varnish were applied. Finally on Monday, the custom Cambria top in brand new Brittanicca was installed. There's one more special design element being made to complete the look, but you will have to stop in during my Grand Opening to see it (or sooner -I love getting visitors!) I'm still finalizing the date of the opening, but will post it once it's set.

After a disappointing first try when the new back door arrived with the hinges on the wrong side, 6 more weeks later it was finally time to put the very old back door to rest and get my new door and transom window. What a difference it makes in the studio. The full view glass brings in so much light, and the metal framing and commercial glass and lock are so much safer.

The furniture, art, and rugs are finally here!

I had the pleasure of meeting a very talented local artist today and he has graciously agreed to hang some of his stunning work in my studio on consignment. If you are looking for unique abstract realism, you have to stop out to see these pieces in person. If you don't see exactly the what you are looking for he will do commissioned pieces too. Here's a peak at John Gerber's work. I'm so excited to be able to share his work with my clients.

Brushed gold hardware with white glass accents on the k***s look beautiful on both the cherry stained cabinets and the gray painted cabinets.
