I don’t post much about politics, because I’ve seen what it can do to people and to relationships.
At the end of the day, we’re all human beings with different opinions, different experiences, and different reasons for believing what we believe. Our upbringing, our circumstances, and the things we’ve personally lived through all shape the way we see the world. That doesn’t automatically make one person right and the other wrong.
What concerns me most is how easily we allow politics to divide us.
Different sides. Different labels. Constant arguing. Family members turning against each other. Friendships ending. Coworkers becoming enemies. Parents and children no longer seeing eye to eye.
And while we’re fighting with each other, we’re forgetting that division is exactly what gives power to those who benefit from keeping us divided.
I don’t care what side you’re on—Republican, Democrat, conservative, liberal, or somewhere in between. I think we need to remember that none of us should allow politics to become more important than the people we love.
You truly start to win in life when you stop allowing politics to control your emotions, consume your conversations, and destroy your relationships.
There is SO much more to life.
Go outside. Watch the sunset. Take a walk. Hug your family. Laugh with your friends. Spend time with your children. Enjoy the people you love. Look around at the incredible world God created for us.
We weren’t put here to spend our entire lives fighting with one another over politics.
Don’t let politics steal your peace. Don’t let it steal your relationships. And most importantly, don’t let division win. ❤️🙏🏼
