Memorial Day is a time to pause and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving our great country. Even though many view this day as the unofficial start to summer, it’s a day of gratitude, reflection, and honoring the sacrifices made for the freedoms we enjoy today and every day! May we never forget those heroes and their families who carry their memory forward!

Happy Friday, sweet friends! 🤗

I love showing our kitchen and today I’m showing the other half of it.

I enjoy collecting swans, and I’m pretty sure there are swans in every room of our home! The swan on the kitchen island is my favorite. I love decorating her for every holiday and this year for red, white, blue season, I’ve used blue hydrangeas with some white and yellow flowers and I tied a red checked ribbon around her neck. She’s so pretty!

The pie safe by the microwave is one of those special pieces that brings me joy to style. This year, I went with a lemon theme that goes with all the pops of yellow you’ll see around the kitchen and living room.

You’ll also see copper molds I’ve hung on the cabinets…I love collecting those too! I think copper pieces are so pretty and add charm and coziness to the kitchen.

I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We will be chilling because Tuesday morning, we are hitting the road to Dallas. Our youngest lives there and we are going to see her and our darling grandchildren! I can’t wait!

Our front porch loves showing off her patriotic vibes! I added some ferns that flank the front door, red bows, flags, and bunting. I love the Americana decor!

It’s an important year…the 250th birthday of the USA! That’s a big deal and we are excited! 🎉🥳🧨

I hope everyone has the best week! I tutor dyslexia students throughout the school year and this is my last week…summer break is just around the corner! ♥️🍉👙☀️

The kitchen truly is the heart of our home, and I love changing it up for the seasons and holidays.

This is one side of the kitchen featuring the coffee station, our three big windows, the dishwasher, and the plate rack. I swapped out the valances and rug, added a few flags, brought in touches of red, white, and blue with little pops of yellow, and changed around a few pieces in the plate rack. And of course, I had to add some flowers!

I also added a skirt to the dishwasher, which is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now….though I did have to train the hubby on how to open and close the dishwasher without messing up the skirt! 🤣

I think the kitchen is looking pretty festive and all ready to celebrate the upcoming patriotic holidays!!

I can’t believe how fast April is flying by! We put new mulch down in the flower beds and have planted some flowers. I’ve gotten the all porch ready for summer…I’ll be adding all the red, white, and blue soon!

The weather has been perfect lately and we’ve gotten so much done outside. Spring has really been springing here!

I hope everyone has the best day and week! Let’s all be extra kind. 🥰
