🎃 Halloween has a funny way of testing your carpet.

Candy.
Chocolate.
Muddy shoes.
Pumpkin guts.
Hot chocolate.
And those mysterious spots where everyone in the house suddenly claims, “That wasn’t me.”

The problem with a carpet spill isn’t usually the spill itself.

It’s what happens in the next five minutes.

Rub the wrong thing into it, use the wrong cleaner, or attack it too aggressively and a small accident can become a much bigger problem.

That’s why we put together our FREE Carpet Spotting Guide—something worth saving before you need it.

Because when somebody drops chocolate on the carpet Halloween night, that is a terrible time to start Googling:

“WHAT DO I DO NOW?!”

👻 Save yourself the panic.

Your carpet doesn’t need a Halloween costume that lasts until Thanksgiving.

She plays hard. The carpet doesn't play at all. Honestly, the perfect pair.

We carry DreamWeaver Lineage in 3934 Windhaven — soft enough for the littlest paws, tough enough to keep up with them.

Did you know the color of your kitchen floor can actually affect how hungry you feel? 🤔

Color psychology in interior design is real, and floors play a bigger role than most people think.

🌿 Warm wood tones like this honey oak are associated with comfort, appetite, and a welcoming atmosphere. No coincidence that so many great kitchens use them.

❄️ Very cool or stark floors can make a kitchen feel clinical and less inviting, even when everything else is beautifully designed.

🍂 Earthy, natural tones in particular have been shown to make people feel more relaxed and at ease in a space.

Your kitchen floor sets the emotional temperature of the room before anyone even starts cooking. Something worth thinking about. 💡

Come see it in person at Capell Flooring and Interiors — 2640 E. State Ave, Suite 140, in Meridian. Questions? Call us at 208-288-0151 or start at capellflooring.com. Family-owned since 1974.

October is prime time for kitchen projects, and one question we hear a lot is: what floor actually holds up in a kitchen long term? 🤔

Here's what matters most in this room specifically:

🍳 Comfort underfoot. You stand here for long stretches. Materials with a little give, like LVP or cushioned tile, make a real difference over time.

💧 True waterproofing. Kitchens see spills constantly. Water resistant is not the same as waterproof. Know which you're getting before you buy.

🌡️ Stability. Kitchens experience heat, humidity, and temperature changes. Materials that expand and contract significantly can cause problems over time.

🧹 Ease of cleaning. Grout lines, texture, and finish all affect how easy the floor is to maintain day to day.

Fall is the season that finally gives you permission to go deep and rich with your interiors. 🍂🌿

A jewel-toned chair. A vintage rug with history in every thread. Warm wood floors visible just at the edges, grounding the whole composition.

This is what layering looks like when it's done with intention. And the secret is that the floors don't have to be the showstopper. Sometimes their job is to be the quiet backdrop that makes everything else look like it belongs.

If you've been thinking about a sitting room, reading corner, or formal living refresh this fall, October is the time. 🍁
