They have arrived!!! I saw one little baby out earlier today and there were still two eggs in the nest. This evening all had hatched and were snuggled back into the nest. ❤️

I grew up in the country on the rim of the Snake River. Our closest neighbor was half a mile away and the next was another 1/2 mile past them. We were surrounded by wildlife. My favorite part of having this little piece of property is getting a little taste of my childhood back seeing some of these amazing creatures again and sharing them with my boys. Killdeer nests are hard to find because they camouflage so well. They try to distract by looking injured and luring you away. This gal has started to learn to trust that I’m not a threat and we can share some space. I’m hoping to get a glimpse of her babies when they hatch but they don’t stay in their nest and are good at hiding.

This weekend is the last of the ranunculus. ☹️We have cookies. Each one is a large 4oz in packs of 4. White Chocolate Lemon, Cinnadoodle, Sea Salt Chocolate Chip. And farm fresh eggs!
