Yes, you can but this is why they won’t last.

🌸 Why supermarket flowers are struggling in this weather — and why florists aren’t. 🌺
This heatwave has been brutal on flowers, and you’ve probably noticed it every time you walk past a supermarket display. The stems look tired, the petals brown early, and the bunches simply don’t last. There’s a reason for that.

Supermarket flowers travel long distances in bulk, often warm, dry, and unconditioned. They sit in ambient store temperatures, under hot lights, near bakery heat, and without proper hydration. In weather like this, they’re already halfway gone before you even pick them up.

Florist‑grade flowers are different.
They’re cooled, hydrated, trimmed, conditioned, and handled by people who actually understand how flowers behave in extreme weather. They’re stored properly, moved quickly, and cared for from the moment they arrive. That’s why they last longer, look fresher, and perform better — especially now.

This weather has simply exposed the truth:
Supermarket flowers are built for volume. Florist flowers are built for survival.

🌿 Don’t support florists because they’re local — support them because they’re better.

Also, 95% of the “florists” at supermarkets have absolutely zero experience or training with flowers. Most come out of the produce department or are just walk ins looking for a job. There is no formal training, no certifications, and zero experience.
You get what you pay for.
