The 40-year-old Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha was his nation's hero in their first ever World Cup game against Spain.
Things finished 0-0 as the Spanish, considered among the favourites for the tournament, failed to find a way past Vozinha for the entire game.
He said he'd been working towards this moment for his 'entire life'.
Sadly, his mum wasn't able to be in the stadium as she couldn't complete her visa application.
Back in January the US government put Cape Verde on a list of countries where people must post a returnable bond of up to $15,000 (£11,200).
Her son said he 'cried because my mum didn’t manage to be here because of the visa'.
