Here's a "shelfie" of a functional entertaining space for music, reading, and social congregation... the LIVING ROOM!
Some tips for accessorizing your living room include:
-Don't over clutter with knick knacks. Only display items which bring you joy, or provide a function. If you have too many- create "seasonal" displays and store the rest, in which you can substitute items for shelf time.
-Use a variety of objects that are of different size, color, and shape for visual interest.
-Accessorize with items that are meaningful to you (think of your hobbies, favorite travel destination, etc.) and don't forget the purpose of the room. Your home should be enjoyed and express who you are.
-Create a focus which is important and practical for you and the space... perhaps the focus is watching live sports games on tv, or enjoying the view and company of family. Once this decision is made, you can design the space accordingly.
