Casa Alba came at a particular moment for Surfside, as new regulations opened up new possibilities for residential architecture.

The project became an opportunity to explore how to respond to that context through design, while staying connected to the identity of the neighborhood.

A process where every decision had to balance the possibilities of the new code with the way the home was meant to be lived, leading to a design approved by Surfside Planning & Zoning.
