During Spring semester we had the amazing opportunity to be part of the 2022 TOM: FIU Makeathon. Team Florencia + Miya, the one , , , were part of, was a perfect partnership between Architect and Interior Architects!
The challenge was to create a 3D printed table based on the following requirements : adaptable, foldable, light and easy to transport. Our need knower was a little girl called Miya, who depends on a wheelchair to move, and utilize a communication device to communicate with everyone.
A special thank you for .andrade.neves , who was the one responsible for making all this to happen! You are amazing! Everything was perfect !
What is a Makeathon? A weekend-long event where teams will create solutions to neglected challenges. Location is at Miami Beach Studio
⭐️What is this for? There are 1 billion people in the world with a disability, but many everyday products are not designed to be accessible. These are Neglected Challenges, because they do not have an affordable and available market solution.
⭐️What is a Maker? Anyone with a passion for DIY projects and making skills! Designers, Artists, Engineers, Programmers.
It is so gratifying to dedicate some time, in order to be able to participate and help finding possible solutions for such a good cause ! Im just so glad and honored to be part of this team !
