Every renovation starts with a vision ✨
Ours started in September 2024, when we bought this house just days before it was headed to foreclosure auction.
Most people saw an outdated kitchen.
We saw the one it could become.
Then came the part you don’t see on Tarek’s shows. 😅
The learning curve.
We’ve all heard the renovation horror stories… the money pit, the delays, the contractor who says “tomorrow” like it’s a flexible concept.
When it’s happening to someone else, it’s obvious.
When it’s happening to you… denial becomes your best friend.
You tell yourself:
“Next week will be better.”
“They’re figuring it out.”
“It’ll all make sense soon.”
Spoiler alert: sometimes it doesn’t. 😂
This project gave us three unforgettable lessons:
Lesson #1 ⏳
If someone says “I’ll have an answer tomorrow” and a week later it’s still excuses… congratulations, you already got your answer.
Lesson #2 🚩
Pay attention to the small things. Little shortcuts usually lead to big problems.
Lesson #3 💸
If you’re paying for progress but the only thing progressing is someone’s vacation photos… it might be time to wake up.
So yes… we made mistakes.
And yes… we learned a lot.
The real breakthrough wasn’t the design.
It was realizing the smartest move sometimes is to pause the project, reset the team, and bring in the right people.
And that’s exactly what we did.

• the kitchen when we bought the house
• the kitchen today (studs, dust, and all 🛠️)
• the vision we’re bringing to life by April
And honestly… these lessons apply to any business, not just renovations.
Trust us. Our learning curves have been coming from the w***o lately. 😄
At this rate, don’t be surprised if we publish a book someday:
“How to Detect Pop-Tarts.”
Great spaces don’t happen in a straight line.
But when you learn, reset, and keep going… the vision finds its way. ✨
Can you see it now?
