A little florist humor… but also a little perspective 🤍
Most of these aren’t “bad questions” — they usually come from not knowing what goes into event floral design behind the scenes.
So, from the florist side:
1. We love hearing from our clients, but evenings, weekends and family time matter too. Unless it’s an event-day emergency, we may not respond right away — and that’s okay.
2. A planner or coordinator isn’t just for the planning beforehand. Their biggest job is making sure everything actually happens on the wedding day so you can be present and enjoy it.
3. Inspiration is great, but expectations have to match the budget. If a professional tells you something isn’t realistic, it’s not to shut down your vision — it’s to help you make choices that will actually work.
4. We’re happy to answer questions and make reasonable adjustments before booking, but every call and revision takes time. At some point, continued design work needs to happen after the date is reserved.
5. Wedding floral design and setup are different from most events. Pricing includes planning, sourcing, labor, staffing, delivery, setup, breakdown and lots of attention to detail beforehand. We don’t just show up, drop flowers on the tables and leave.
6. Every florist prices differently. A lower quote may simply reflect a different scope, product, labor or design approach.
7. AI and ChatGPT can be great for inspiration, but flowers, mechanics, seasons, venues and physics still get the final say. 😅
8. Grocery-store flowers can be beautiful, but professional event florals require consistency, volume, quality, timing and design.
9. If the table count goes up, product and labor usually do too. We can adjust the design to protect the budget — but something has to change somewhere.
10. Bringing extra flowers? Always talk to your florist first. Outside product can affect the final look, quality and overall design.
None of this is about being difficult. It’s about making sure expectations, budget and reality all meet in the same place — so the end result is something everyone loves.
And yes… we still love you even when you ask #7. 😂
