Each item is individually crafted and natural pattern imperfections are built into the creative process. Bruce Berkowitz has been producing his work for over 5 years from his Southernmost home of Key West. Bruce has a personal passion and attraction to the materials he uses, incorporating the textures and shapes he loves most. All of Bruce's work is microwave, dishwasher and food safe, while his p

opular garden planter series is also waterproof. When asked if one can eat from his dishes, Bruce says, "It's like glass!". Bruce fires his signature "Raku", or crackle finish work, at 1800 degrees Fahrenheit, while other pieces are fired at temperatures in excess of 2300 F. The Raku is taken out of the kiln at 1950 degrees and settled gently into sawdust, covered over with a metal can to burn off oxygen and allow the clay to absorb carbon. This results in a fascinating crackle effect which has proved popular in his urn series.

Im finally back at the studio after a prolonged illness. I have spent all week like a mad scientist, hovered over a gram scale mixing glazes to exact specification.
