No signature. No stamp. No name. Just hand-painted flowers, a wreath of green leaves, a faceted uranium glass center handle β€” and absolutely zero clues about who made it. πŸ”

This gorgeous serving plate is one of my favorite kinds of find: the ones that make you dig. The hand-painted detail is too careful to be mass production. The uranium glass handle glows brilliant green under a blacklight. And yet β€” not a single maker's mark anywhere on it.

It could be American. It could be Czech or German export glass. It could be a department store exclusive that was never marked. Unmarked vintage glass was incredibly common β€” many small glasshouses, decorating studios, and importers never bothered with a mark at all.

The mystery is part of the charm. πŸ’šβœ¨οΈ

Do you recognize this style? Depression-era collectors, art glass lovers β€” I'd love your thoughts in the comments. Every clue helps!

Picture a summer evening sometime in the 1930s. A pitcher of cold water sitting on a kitchen table. A family gathered for supper. This carafe, right here, could have been exactly that. 🌿

Before plastic. Before stainless steel water bottles. Before the refrigerator door had a built-in dispenser β€” families kept carafes like this on the table or bedside. Simple, functional, beautiful. The ribbed body gave a good grip. The wide neck made it easy to fill and pour. The soft green glass made even a glass of water feel a little elegant during years when elegance was hard to come by.

And then the blacklight comes out β€” and suddenly this quiet little everyday object lights up like something from another world. That's uranium glass. Completely ordinary until it isn't. ✨

Nearly 90 years old, still clear and bright. Come find it at Em's Radiant Relics inside Marketplace Mall in Middlefield, Ohio β€” or DM me to hold it.

During the Great Depression, glassware was sometimes given away free inside flour sacks and cereal boxes. These were the everyday dishes of hardship-era America. 🌿

This uranium glass cream & sugar set dates to the 1920s–40s. The soft green glow you see under blacklight comes from uranium oxide β€” an ingredient banned from glassmaking when WWII began, making pre-war pieces like these increasingly hard to find.

Nearly a century old and still glowing. Come find it at Em's Radiant Relics inside Marketplace Mall in Middlefield, Ohio β€” or DM me if you'd like to hold it before your visit. ✨

With its elegant paneled sides and ornate double handles, this piece is a wonderful example of the craftsmanship that made Cambridge Glass Company a legend. Operating out of Cambridge, Ohio from 1902–1958, Cambridge was renowned for producing some of America's finest handmade glassware. πŸš‚βœ¨ Then vs. Now β€” The Wonder Never Changes ✨🌐

When the steam locomotive roared across the American landscape, people were absolutely awestruck. Trains weren't just transportation β€” they were magic. They shrank a continent. They connected families, moved mountains, and made the impossible possible. Artists painted them on everything. People collected images of locomotives the way we screenshot moments from SpaceX launches today. The railroad was the technology that was going to change everything β€” and it did.

Sound familiar?

We are living through our version of that moment right now. The internet, AI, instant global connection β€” it's our steam engine. Future generations will look back at us the way we look back at the Victorians who marveled at the iron horse, and they'll say: they had no idea how much it would change everything.

This piece is a beautiful reminder that human wonder is timeless. The technology changes. The awe doesn't.

Hand-painted by Fenton artist Carol Shaffer on genuine uranium glass β€” yes, it really glows under blacklight! One of a kind, signed, and absolutely gorgeous.

I'll be adding this beauty to my booth at Marketplace Mall! Come see it glow in person. Pieces like this don't last long. πŸ’š

πŸ•―οΈ The Enchanting History of Fairy Lamps πŸ•―οΈ

Ever wonder why they're called "fairy lamps"? These charming Victorian-era candle holders got their name from the soft, ethereal glow that supposedly attracted fairies! ✨

Invented by Samuel Clarke in England during the 1880s, fairy lamps weren't just decorative - they were functional! Victorians used them as night lights in nurseries, food warmers to keep tea hot, and ambient lighting for dinner parties. Nearly every home had at least one by the early 1900s. πŸ•―οΈ

The genius design featured a glass shade sitting in a matching base with a small candle inside. The shade diffused light beautifully while protecting the flame. Uranium glass versions were especially prized for their otherworldly green glow! πŸ’š

When electricity arrived, fairy lamps became purely decorative, but their nostalgic appeal never faded. They represent Victorian elegance and charm - practical beauty from a bygone era.

We have a stunning fairy lamp available right now at our booth! Use it with a candle for authentic vintage ambiance or display it as a glowing collectible.
