Congratulations Mercy!!
Your 2026 Southern Connecticut Conference Indoor Track & Field Champions!
Mercy Track & Field!
For the first time in 10 years and just the third time in 32 years, the Tigers are league champs!
Led by individual championships from Maddie Scarfo ’27, Cora Wasiolek ’28, and Sarah Roberts ’26, and a second place finish in the 1600-Meter Sprint Medley Relay, Mercy scored 77 points to beat Hillhouse by 15 and Hamden by 28.5!
After back-to-back fourth place finishes the last two years, the Tigers found the winner’s circle at the Floyd Little Athletic Center behind Roberts’ wins in the 600 meters and 1600 meters, Wasiolek’s win in the 1000 meters and a runner-up finish in the 3200 meters, and Scarfo’s jump of 5 feet-2 inches for first in the high jump. But there was more to highlight, too!
The Sprint Medley Relay team of Molly Mones ’28, Scarfo, Heather Meisinger ’26 and Beatrice Perrault ’26 delivered one of the performances of the day, scoring eight points and taking second after coming in unseeded.
Allie Pelletier ‘27 also had a big finish in the 1000 meters, using a major kick in the final 200 meters to finish fourth, and rounding out the podium finishes was the 4x800-meter relay team of Liliana Tycz ’26, Keira O’Brien ’29, Meisinger and Adelina Tycz ‘28, who finished a close third in the event.
Mercy’s other scoring performances were: Ruby Kuselias (4th in 3200), the 4x200 team of Mones, Veronika Meriano ’26, Macy Gerry ’27 and Ella Barone ’26 (fourth), Kathleen Gaboury ’27 (fifth in the shot put), and Madalena D’Andrea ‘27 (sixth in the 3200 meters).
Scarfo, Wasiolek, and Roberts made first team All-SCC, and Mones, Scarfo, Meisinger, and Perrault were also All-SCC second team.
For Mercy, the performance completes a six-year climb to the top of the competitive league, and hopefully starts a new run!
Congratulations to the entire team on a complete team victory, which featured points in more than half the events, and thank you to all the Mercy Track & Field members who helped get the program back to this point!
We are so proud of every member of this team!
Let’s go, Tigers!
