The hidden leak... Leaks happen and a lot of the time they are near bathrooms, kitchens, etc. where pipes are going through the roof. Most of the time the culprit is the pipe flange/boot. Especially rubber pipe flanges (which are most common). They generally last about half the life of a shingle roof (10-15 yrs). Sometimes they don't show a leak and you'd be surprised the state of these pipe flanges. BIG holes/gaps around the pipes and still no signs of a leak! Unfortuantely they are most definitely leaking, it's just not showing. Checking your roof periodically can save you a major headache! Give us a call for a free inspection!

Some before and after picture of this awesome project the guys finished up last week. All new metal wrap, new gutters, back deck was rebuilt, new Trex railing and porch decking, new black gable vents. This one was a big one but MAN did it turn out amazing!

Another awesome job by the A-Team crew! New gutters, new stair rails, some new siding, new storm door, new soffit... I do wish I would have gotten some more before pictures. Thought I took some but they disappeared. Ugh...

Sometimes we just can't find a good color match. That was the case with this job. The siding was from 1999 and unfortunately all the color matches were discontinued. What do you do in this case? An option is take siding from one section to use elsewhere and make the section taken from an accent wall, which is what we did on this house.
NOTE: There was no water at this house during the repair, otherwise we would have pressure washed the siding first. It was pressure washed after we completed the repair.

Was your house build 2010 or earlier? Do you have vinyl siding? Did you know there was no code requiring house wrap before 2010?

What does that mean for you? Water gets behind vinyl siding, especially around windows and penetrations. It's not hard to check behind your siding to make sure you have house wrap. If you don't that's something that can be addressed whenever your siding is replaced but that doesn't mean you need to panic! You do need to check under window, mainly, to make sure water hasn't been causing damage. Some houses have house wrap but no window tape, which can be just as damaging.

Why Mold Grows on Siding

Shade and moisture: North-facing walls or spots blocked by trees hold water longer.
Clogged gutters: Overflowing water keeps the top and sides of the house wet.
