How it works:
Pay up front for first dibs on all tubers I dig except for Maxwelton's Enchanting. Apply your $155 club fee towards your tuber order before sales tax and shipping & handling fees. If your order is less than $155, we graciously accept your gift donation. If your order is more than $155, you will pay the difference + shipping and handling fees.
The buyer's club is your EARLY ACCESS TICKET to PURCHASE Maxwelton's Enchanting.
Buyer's Club members get their first Maxwelton's Enchanting tuber at a discounted price of $65.
Buyer's club does NOT cover the cost of Maxwelton's Enchanting.
Buyer's Club / Early Access fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.
Dahlia tubers will ship THIS FALL 2026 except for Maxwelton's Enchanting which will ship in the spring based on location and weather.
Maxwelton's Enchanting spring shipping cost will be waived for Buyer's Club / Early Access customers.
Orders are filled CSA style, not first come, first serve. We're a community! No greediness allowed here.
This club acts as a Community Supported Agriculture opportunity to allow us to pay our bills and spread out our income before the peak of tuber season.

PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING:

Please keep your climate in mind when you place your order. Tubers don't ship well in frozen weather. If you're ordering in the fall, make sure you're prepared to store your tubers through the winter. It takes a bit of experience to properly store tubers so they don't dry out or rot.
Mother Hen Farms is not responsible for tubers that do not survive storage after they have left our care. Tubers want to grow! Different varieties grow different tubers. They also grow differently in different soils and climates. Little tubers will grow. Skinny tubers will grow. Huge tubers will grow. Soft or wrinkled tubers will grow. Tubers grown as "pot tubers" can look ugly or gnarly. They will grow. If you want to grow dahlia flowers, you're in the right place. If you're looking for runway ready tubers, I recommend you look elsewhere. Your tubers will be awake with eyes or sprouts upon delivery! One more note, occasionally I will cut a large sprout before shipping if I don't think it'll survive the trip in a box.
CULTIVAR GUARANTEE
Tubers grown and dug in 2026 will be bloom confirmed unless specified otherwise in the listing. All Maxwelton's Enchanting will be bloom confirmed by me and tubers will be true to cultivar label. Each tuber will be labeled. If you grow a Maxwelton's Enchanting tuber from me and it doesn't bloom as expected, I will require a photo of the plant attached to the tuber with visible Mother Hen Farm's label on the tuber. If you indeed somehow get the wrong thing and I can verify that by seeing the bloom attached to the labeled clump, I will refund your purchase of that Maxwelton's Enchanting tuber in full. That's how confident I am that you'll be getting the right thing.
Customers who purchased tubers from me that were dug in the fall of 2025:
In 2025-2026 season I was unable to guarantee my orders to be true to the cultivar you purchased. I was unable to get out to my dahlias to confirm blooms/varieties with their tags. I had family help with The Great Tuber Dig without my supervision because I was under restrictions and healing from two surgeries. Mistakes happen. That said, out of the varieties I was able to confirm, my rate of mislabeled dahlias was quite low. Please reach out to me if you have concerns with your dahlias or if they didn't grow true to label. I will do whatever I can to keep a happy customer.
THE PERFECT CUSTOMER
Dahlias bring people together. A little kindness goes a long way. My favorite repeat customers continue to come back because even if there are mistakes, I always make good on a situation. They are understanding and appreciate that we're all human. If you have a very specific need and absolute precision is most important to you, you are not my ideal customer. As a super busy mom of a medically complex child, it's important to me that my customers know and understand that sometimes crap happens and schedules have to pivot. To all my past customers and dahlia friends, thank you for your support and kindness over the years! It's amazing how many friendships are made through dahlias.
AS YOUR GROWER
I will check the weather between me and you to make sure I'm not sending your tubers into a blizzard. We both want your tubers to arrive safely. If you are new to dahlias and would like to know more about certain varieties or you would like recommendations, I am happy to chat on the phone to help you decide what you need.
If you need a certain shipping date or you are going on a trip and won't be home to accept your package, please message me so we can make sure your tubers don't get abandoned at your doorstep.
UPON RECEIPT OF YOUR ORDER
Plan to open your shipment immediately, and notify me within 24 hours of receipt if there are any issues. All tubers are shipped with visible eyes or sprouts.
