Colorful, whimsical and sometimes dark and edgy. Linda Benenati encaustic collage paintings are inspired by the art masters (Klimt, Frida Kahlo, Magritte), theater, 1920’s and 30’s collectibles, bees, fruit, owls, cows, dogs, cats, fashion and anything French.

Venture into wonderland with her delightful themes! This ancient technique, dating back to the Greeks, uses heat throughout the process, from melting the beeswax mixture to fusing each layer of wax. Linda’s encaustic medium consists of natural bees wax and dammar resin (crystallized tree sap). She also uniquely incorporates collage elements, which add surprise and dimension. New works available in the Mill Valley gallery.

NEW! Sophisticated punk! A collar necklace in oxidized sterling silver, edged with freshwater pearls. Mariella’s vision of industrial chic takes hollow oxidized sterling silver pipes, meticulously soldered together to form the sculptural collar, while 2mm pearls are set along the edges to create a subtle contrast between light and shadow.

The Piper Collar. Lays comfortably around the neck with a sensual waterfall of links at the back. Your fall statement piece!

The Piper Cuff bracelet follows the same architectural language as the Piper Collar.

Bold, chunky silver. Textured. In the fierce signature of our ever-fab Mariella Pilato.

Industrial in structure yet refined in detail. Available in our Mill Valley design and art gallery or DM here.

Coming soon. A lil ASMR teaser. When our artist adds pumice dust to her paint, it creates this beautifully layered and textured abstract background upon which she also writes poetry. It’s not quite hidden. It beckons to be read. This is just the foundation.

Where… Mill Valley > Sausalito > San Francisco > when family visited. A reminder that we can happily be tourists, too, in this magical place people come for vacation.

1 Golden Gate Ferry. To San Francisco from Sausalito. This is one of the most stunning boat rides you can take in the Bay Area for a fraction of the price of hiring a boat. We landed at the Ferry Building and walked the length of the shops, cafés, bakeries, coffee spots, markets, and dined at NOPA Fish, which everybody loved.

2 Japan Town. Fave spots: the ever designy SF76, Chameleon Vintage, Soko Hardware

3 Cavallo Point. Around the corner from the pier is one of the best views with the thundering sounds under the Golden Gate Bridge.

4 Rodeo Beach. So close and so stunning. From the surfers to the hike to the labyrinth to the hike to the battery. Just watch out for poison oak.

5 Muir Woods. It never gets old. Lower and upper trails explored, the history, the ghosts of the past. One of the inspirations of our Forest Bath / Mill Valley candles.

6 Old Mill Park. A short walk from Poet and the Bench and you’re in the most stunning mini Redwood Forest and the trail head to the Dipsea steps, Cascade Falls, 3 Wells and the curious walks through the neighborhood where homes from the 1900s and forward and the rolling landscape keep you going.

Explore where you live!!

Fogust is real. Our candle, Ethereal Fog / Golden Gate captures that fleeting moment when ocean air over Baker Beach, wild botanicals, and coastal forests collide. It’s inspired by the iconic fog that drifts across the Presidio and Golden Gate Bridge and into the Marin Headlands.

Marine layer and ozone create a cool, airy opening, while aromatic bay laurel, sage, and eucalyptus emerge through the mist.

Notes of cypress, Douglas fir, and tomato leaf add depth, grounding the fragrance in the windswept terrain and the veiled walk across the Golden Gate Bridge.

You can take the fog home!

Magic happened! 🐬 In the waters of Richardson Bay in the heart of Sausalito, we saw baby dolphins swimming in and out of schools of fish! After seeing a sea lion🦭, Jeffrey first spotted a fin of what is likely a bottlenose dolphin. Then we saw more! Possibly swimming with their mama in the calm waters closer to the shore, feeding. It was literally just a captured moment in time because then the dolphins were gone… must have moved on pretty quickly with the swift roving school of fish. 🍀 Lucky timing.

We dip into Sausalito pretty often. We love walking the shoreline, seeing San Francisco in the distance, the Bay Bridge, going all the way to Cavallo Point and around the back, past the fishing pier so we’re under the Golden Gate Bridge… with some of the most extraordinary views and heart pounding sounds overhead. 🌁
Pretty dreamy landscape. What Travel and Leisure recently called “California’s tiny Italian Riviera.” Yep.
