We had to hop on this trend because 2016 was the year it all began 🌱
This spring marks 10 years in business, and we’re endlessly grateful for this journey—and for you being part of it.
In 2016, we quit our 9–5 interior design jobs, bought one-way tickets to Bali, and spent a month sourcing products and building artisan relationships we still cherish today. One evening, we wandered into a restaurant called Kismet, where the owner introduced us to Tutik—our incredible shipping partner, who has been part of our team ever since and connected us with many of the artisans we work with today. Proof that the most meaningful moments often happen by chance.
After Bali, we headed to Myanmar, wandering the temples of Bagan while building our very first website on Squarespace in the middle of the night (the only time the WiFi seemed to work). Next came Thailand, where we officially launched our website—and woke up the following morning to orders coming in from all over the country!
We ended our pilot sourcing trip full of ideas, nerves, and excitement for what was ahead, without realizing we were laying the foundation for the next decade.
