What’s on your worktable!?
Let’s check in with what project is on your cutting table, or ironing board, or under your machine this week! I have several projects that just need binding put on. Anyone else procrastinating with that final finishing touch? This is a whole cloth that jist needs the binding. It has flannel backing. ♥️🥰

Tuesday’s Techniques!

This is actually a technique that is also on my Bucket List! Yep, 2 birds, 1 stone and all that! 😉

English Paper Piecing has intrigued me for quite some time. It makes for some seriously stunning pieces! I cannot wait to find time to attempt this.

Tips, tutorials and inspiration for English Paper Piecing, a quilting technique that has been used for generations. Perfect handwork project you can take on the go.

Meet-n-Greet Monday
Welcome to Jo & Cat’s Sew Shack!

We realized it has been awhile since we have shared our business story. “Sew”, grab your coffee, tea, beer or wine and sit back and take a mental stroll with us for the next few Mondays…

Jo and I met while working together at a local quilt shop. Little did we know we were Kindred Spirits, and would end up best friends and business partners. At one point or another, we both ran the longarm machines for this company. Out if that experience grew a shared love of the process and the customers. When the time was right, we decided to take serious steps towards being able to purchase our own machine(s).

The main goal of our business is to provide quality affordable longarm service to every quilter out there! Whether you are 5 or 95, sending us your first quilt or hundredth, we love and treasure each one! Every stitch is an honor! Even if sometimes those stitches have to be ripped out with a date with “Jack “🙈 (the seam ripper!), and be re-stitched. ♥️ We truly believe there are no ugly quilts out there! No border is too wonky! Art is on display in every seam and stitch!

Until next week…joyous stitching!

Do you have a Quilt Bucket List?!
Many people talk about their Bucket List of things they want to do before they leave this world, or places they want to go. I have my own Bucket List. It is a Bucket List of Quilt Patterns/Styles I want to try! One pattern is the One Block Wonder. Very similar in style to the Kaleidoscope Quilt or the Whack-n-Stack Quilt.

Share with us what is a quilt Pattern or technique that is on your Bucket List! We would love to hear from you!

Have you seen some of the wonderfully creative One Block Wonders (OBW) made using precut panels? If you haven’t you should join the Facebook group “One Block Wonder Quilt Forum& #8…

What’s Up Quilting Friends!
It is Wednesday, Hump/Camel Day.

My favorite is Wacky Wednesday! Dr Seuss, definitely read it a few times. A shoe on the wall? Shouldn’t be there at all. What are some funny things you have found in your fabric/craft rooms that shouldn’t be there?

It's Jo again and it's my last Meet and Greet Monday. Just a quick reminder that today is your last day to get us those quilts to be entered into my $50 birthday drawing!! If you're local give us a call to schedule a pickup or dropoff, if you're mailing make sure you send us the tracking so you can be counted.

Family is the center of my life. It's why I took a job close to home, it's why I pushed to buy a longarm, it's why I started quilting, it's why I continue to quilt and grow. My daughter (16) helps me keep the area around the longarm clean and helps me choose thread colour when I can't decide. My son (11) is frequently keeping me company, asking questions and watching because he wants to be helpful (though frequently he comes out to ask for a sandwich or two). My husband is incredibly supportive and talented in too many areas to list (though he is a self-professed "bobbin winder"), and there's no way I could do all this without him. My extended family is amazing, helpful and supportive in all their own ways as well.

We have a couple of fur babies as well. We do our absolute best to make sure you don't fur from our house onto your quilts! The dogs are not allowed into the "Sew Shack", but I'd be remiss in not mentioning them. Duke is our goofy old man (and yes it is a bird hanging out of his mouth 😳). Princess Peach is our latest addition, though somehow she is already 4. She is our exuberant and loving crazy girl who likes to play soccer with her tennis balls.

Most of my fabric stash is quilts for family all planned out in my head. 😅 Some of it is from years ago when the kids were smaller, so I'm not entirely sure what I'll do with it now, but I have ideas (so many ideas).

Next week we'll be sharing us as a business so make sure you check back!
