My husband, a US Army Veteran recently purchased a tank to help with his PTSD. In the moving of the tank after the purchase, there was an crack that developed in the bottom of the tank, making it unusable. This “new to us” tank was to allow with freeing up some space in our house. Since my husband is medically retired from the military, he is not able to work to make the additional funds needed to replace or fix the tank we just purchased. I am the only one that works and the purchase of this last tank took all of the savings we had.
Having a salwater aquarium assists with his PTSD and also helps keep him busy, allowing for his mind to not wander off into dark spaces. With the breaking of the tank, he has become depressed and withdrawn. We would like to repair the tank that we recently purchased, but the cost of the repair is too great for us to endure in these times with the average cost of the repair to be approximately $2500. If we are not able to repair the tank, the cost of a new tank with the same dimensions as what we just purchased would be between $4000 to $5000. Any assistance would be appreciated to assist with helping a veteran that has found his happy place, stay safe and happy.
