Sometimes one piece is enough.

The right piece of art can do a lot of heavy lifting. The scale, color and texture of this one gave the room depth, contrast and a focal point without overwhelming the space.

Why we designed it this way.

Our clients wanted this room to become their “Wisconsin Room,” but we didn’t want it to feel themed.

Instead, we focused on the feeling of Wisconsin through material, place and pieces with meaning. Warm woods, dark leather, textured upholstery and metal details gave the room a grounded, collected feel, while original prints of Milwaukee landmarks created a gallery wall that made the connection to place personal.

We also designed custom shelving for the Wisconsin memorabilia they’ll continue collecting over the years, allowing the room to evolve with them rather than feeling finished all at once.

And with Lake Michigan right outside the window, the best Wisconsin reference was already there.

A room rooted in place, without ever feeling literal.

What a finished basement looks like before the furniture arrives.

This one started as unfinished basement space and became a completely new guest suite and full bathroom.

Getting there meant much more than finishes. We framed the new spaces, cut into the concrete slab to run plumbing for the bathroom, completed new HVAC and electrical work, and added an additional electrical panel to support the new load.

Then came the design details: warm wood cabinetry, black hex flooring, crisp white tile, matte black fixtures, and a darker ceiling that gave the bathroom just the right amount of contrast.

The furniture will come later, but the transformation is already there.

A special one for us. 🤎

We’re incredibly honored to have our Living Canvas project recognized by Milwaukee Magazine’s 2026 Home & Design Awards, receiving Second Place in Architecture & New Construction: Condominium or Townhouse. We’re so grateful to be recognized alongside such talented work.

This project reflects so much of what we love about what we do: creating spaces that feel deeply personal to the people who live in them, while thoughtfully considering every detail along the way.

Awards are never the reason we do the work, but having a project we’re genuinely proud of recognized within our own community makes this one especially meaningful.

And, of course, none of these spaces come together without the team of people behind them. Very grateful for everyone who had a hand in bringing this one to life. 🤎

Site visits, selections, early installs, overloading our vehicles, a little time on the water, walking for a cause, and a live sighting of Woody + Buzz 😂

Celebrating my birthday today has me feeling especially grateful for everything we’ve been able to build, but even more for the people who help make it all happen. Our team, trades, vendors, partners, clients, and everyone who shows up alongside us.

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes before a space ever makes it to the finished photos, and I think that might be one of my favorite parts. Watching all of the little pieces eventually become someone’s home.

Feeling very grateful going into another year. 🤎

Sometimes the biggest transformation isn’t about adding more. It’s about making the space make more sense.

This bathroom originally had an oversized shower that took up a significant portion of the room, while the rest of the space lacked the storage and everyday function it needed.

We reworked the layout, reducing the footprint of the shower while still keeping it generously sized, and creating room for a full vanity and additional linen storage. The new layout gave everything a purpose and made much better use of the existing square footage.

Warm, heavily veined porcelain tile, wood cabinetry and brushed nickel finishes brought character and warmth to a space that had previously been almost entirely white.

A good reminder that sometimes the most impactful part of a renovation is simply reconsidering how the space should work.

Worth the drive north.

A look back at one piece of a much larger project we completed a few years ago.

Surrounded by trees, this sunroom was always meant to feel like an extension of its setting. We kept the palette warm and understated, allowing the natural materials, stone fireplace and incredible views to do most of the talking.

And while the room feels polished, comfort was just as important. That chair? A recliner. All the comfort, without looking like one.

Luxury doesn’t have to feel untouchable.

For this condo, we wanted the bedroom to feel collected, warm and deeply comfortable. The kind of space you genuinely look forward to coming home to.

We’re layering rich earth tones, subtle pattern and texture with moments of deeper color to bring warmth and personality into a contemporary setting. Each selection plays a role, from the bedding and area rugs to the fabric and paint, without everything needing to perfectly match.

The result we’re working toward is approachable luxury: elevated, personal and meant to be lived in.
