“I had this grand idea to develop certain scent combinations to be remindful of different parts of the city that I enjoyed exploring” proclaimed founder Kevin Goudzwaard.

“I just wanted to do something on my own, I wanted to pursue this candle idea and see where this adventure would take me” Goudzwaard said.

“I think Milwaukee Candle Company represents many things, one being a curated lifestyle. I once heard this quote from a famous author by the of Jacob Bronowski that went like this; “the hand is the cutting edge of the mind”. To me, this represents a life full of exploring, making, and finding pleasure in one’s own skill. I have always loved working with my hands and I want to share that with other people.”

Goudzwaard recognizes that there are many trials and tribulations he faces with starting a small business, however he sees this as an exciting new opportunity, not an obstacle. He understands that people do not just want to buy a product, they want to be a part of the story.
