There’s something hypnotic about the rhythm of a dahlia’s petals. Frilly versions of the bloom are perfect in garden-style bouquets; round, ball-shaped versions complement tidy, architectural-style florals. With so many other shapes and colors, there is a dahlia for any application. However, dahlias are fussy; prone to mold, shattering, and the bloom simply falling off the stem.

In other words, they are stunning but risky.

Working with trained florists means you have someone on your team who knows how to keep a fussy flower in peak condition. They are adjusting temperature, moisture, and nutrients at precise times in each stem’s life to ensure every bloom is perfect for exactly when you need it to be.

There’s something truly magical about the colors and textures of an autumn bouquet.

This is a bridesmaid bouquet we were honored to deliver yesterday. The style brief was: textured and unfussy; terracotta and burgundy; yes to grasses, no to poppies. Thanks to our client for such a fun request!

We included orchid, foxglove, roses, straw flower, nigella pods, hypericum, chrysanthemum, broom corn, feather grass, eucalyptus, leucadendron, and gravelia.
