Meet Owen! Owen is one of our newest employees and he’s been a great addition to the team. He is currently enrolled in college working toward a degree in anthropology. Eager to learn and happy to help with just about any task thrown at him, he’s been working here part time for 4 months. Another fun fact about Owen- he is Kate’s brother! Special shoutout to Owen for helping restore the massive Ford Parkway sconces, they required a lot of work. you can usually find Owen in the store putting the finishing touches on a buffet or helping with heavy lifting in and around the store.

Having a piece of local history doesn’t happen often! We recently acquired and restored 3 pairs of massive wrought iron and copper sconces that once hung outside the St. Paul Ford Plant. Built in 1925, it was the oldest operating plant in the United States and closed its doors in 2011. They used a dam to generate hydroelectric power and nearby sand mines to produce their own glass. The first car made was a Model T and the last was a Ranger truck. Our talented crew painstakingly cleaned the copper while leaving some original paint and patina behind to maintain its character.
