Before there was a runway, there was a backyard in Minneapolis and 250 yards of silk flowers waiting to be vacuum sealed...what looks like suitcases to you is a LOT of concealed preserved florals just waiting to be arranged.

People often ask what goes into an installation of this size, and the honest answer is a lot of planning, a lot of packing, and a lot of trust in the people beside you. Every bloom had to travel safely to New York and arrive ready for its moment, so we sealed, labeled, and carried each piece with care. I truly couldn’t have done it without Emily!!

Once we landed, we headed straight to the floral market to gather everything else the design needed. There is nothing quite like walking those aisles with a vision in your head and a very full pair of arms.

The journey to Hayley Paige’s New York Bridal Fashion Week show had officially begun. Follow along over the next few days to see how everything went.

Last weekend, our flowers walked the runway for something so much bigger than fashion, and I’m still floating from the whole experience...genuinely Emily and I had the time of our life!!

If you know me, or you’ve been hanging around here for a little while, you know how close mental health is to my heart. That’s why it meant so much to have our pieces at the Walk with Purpose Mental Health Fashion Show Gala in Grand Rapids. We styled preserved botanicals for a show built entirely around mental health awareness, and every single piece was made with that purpose in mind.

Proceeds from the evening benefited be nice. | Mental Health Fndn ,an organization doing real, meaningful work in mental health education and support.

Fashion has a wonderful way of getting people in the room... but that night, the conversation was the whole point. It was an evening full of community, creativity, and people taking care of each other, and I’m so proud we got to bring a little botanical beauty to it. Sometimes the best stories happen completely by accident.

I met Nikki Mastrangelo at the Hayley Paige show and we hit it off right away, the kind of instant connection you can’t really plan for. Afterward, I put together an arrangement inspired by everything about Nikki, just because it felt right.

What nobody knew at the time was that the piece ended up matching the exact dress Hayley had sent Nikki to wear for her wedding, down to the palette. Sometimes flowers just know something before you do. 😏

There’s something special about creating a piece that feels like it was always meant for its surroundings. ✨

For our client, jewelry designer Gretchen Ventura, Melanie handcrafted this preserved botanical arrangement—and the finished piece just happened to beautifully complement Gretchen’s jewelry, from its warm, organic palette to its intricate textures and details.

At the heart of the design is a delicate bird’s nest, surrounded by preserved roses, natural greenery, and unexpected botanical elements. Much like a beautiful piece of jewelry, every detail is intentional—designed to be noticed, admired, and enjoyed from every angle.

That’s the versatility of preserved botanicals. They can be created to complement a home, a brand, a season, or even a personal collection, while offering a more sustainable alternative to arrangements that are enjoyed briefly and discarded. There’s something about white that feels less like a color and more like a decision. Confident enough to not need the noise...but such a head turner regardless.

Introducing the White Cowboy Boot, where three extra large white roses rise from an embossed ivory boot in a pairing that shouldn’t work as well as it does. Handcrafted artistry meets the quiet nostalgia of the American West, and the result feels less like a nod to the past and more like something timeless enough to belong in any era.

The neutral palette means this piece never feels seasonal. It’s just as at home in a summer wedding as it is on a mantel in December, which makes it one of those rare gifts that works for almost anyone, whether you’re celebrating a client, a marriage, or just an ordinary Tuesday that deserves something beautiful.

Meet our new personal favorite - the quiet star of the Verdant Collection. Air ferns, layered in soft dark green waves, settled into a sculptural white or black pedestal vase.

Here’s the twist, and it gets me every time: air ferns aren’t a plant at all. They’re preserved hydrozoans..little tiny sea creatures...which means this piece is carrying a little piece of ocean history into your space, whether you knew it or not.

Choose it as is, all air fern, spilling gently over the vessel’s edges in that effortless, feathery movement. Or build it out with hydrangea, six roses, and additional greenery for something fuller, more layered.
