They will be soon picking up more puppets for the holiday season, but they still have a nice selection available for those last-minute birthday gifts, a teacher’s pet, or just a way to make someone smile. ♻️ Less landfill has always been a concern of mine since I was young before the world knew sustainability. So when the original challenge to create something besides jewelry for my friends upcycled store (called Upcycled) I took it to heart.
Reclaimed cardboard and fleece get a second act at Puppet Pandemonium! For prep work, I brush debris from the cardboard and remove tape before cutting. The fleece is washed with laundry soap and vinegar, then attached using my professional high-temperature glue gun. Weights hold everything firmly together while the glue sets. Additionally, some puppets get a body made of fleece. It’s been a fun trip to make these little critters!
The boxes used for tonight’s prepping is from Christmas village boxes. The fleece are from blankets and scraps from puppet cuttings that are remnants.
Keeping useful materials out of the landfill and putting them to work inspiring imagination—one puppet at a time! 💚

Hey, all you Bozeman peeps! I hope to see you all tomorrow. Today at the VIP event, I saw many of my biggest puppet fans! Makes me feel so gracious to know how my puppets have impacted so many lives, from the folks at Museum of the Rockies to a true aficionado. Bozeman, you never disappoint. I love making them so THANKYOU for your support of my art!

Off to the beautiful city of Bozeman. Ready for the Bozeman Made Fair! So many artists all in one location! I’m very proud to be able to show with artist of Montana. Very rarely can so many artists. Be in one location if you miss this then you are missing out! Time start that Christmas shopping, Thanksgiving gifts for the host, and those birthdays between now and next May!

A few words on AI usage in art. When ChatGPT helps tune my photos, it readjusts the distance to make an object centered to the frame. That is the case with these photos. They are cutouts of my photo. This has come a long way since I first started using this program. I use it sometimes to trim a background so you can see what you are working with in design. A way technology can assist art. As a side note, this is the Storyteller Signature, just one of the many upcycled puppets I carry. Made from scarves and rescued yarn, these sustainably sourced puppets are my favorite to make. Come see this Twirler and other Signature Storytellers at Made Fair in Bozeman at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse hosted by HandMADE Montana. Learning to take photos for submission to events has been a real struggle. AI erased the background of this photo. That helps bring clarity of my focus in photography. My shop is always a hot mess and finding a location to set up my photo tent is crazy. If I do, then I have to set up 3 lights and hope I can get a decent shot.
