One of the most dramatic transformations in the Bay Cottage is happening upstairs.✨ What was once an unfinished attic space is being re-imagined into beautiful, livable bedrooms & bathrooms while maintaining the home’s historic charm. Even the staircase has been thoughtfully redesigned, replacing the original narrow attic stairs with a full-size staircase that better serves the home today.

One step closer to becoming the perfect place to enjoy the waterfront views once again. 🌿 What was once the home’s open back porch is being enclosed to create additional living space while preserving the character of the original architecture. Custom shutters have been installed, and structural improvements are underway as this historic space continues its transformation.

With the home’s original rain porch still intact below, a traditional architectural feature designed to shelter porch sitters from coastal rain while maintaining cooling breezes - the cottage will continue to celebrate its historic roots while adapting for modern living.

Throughout the Bay Cottage, we’re carefully replicating original interior doors to match the character and craftsmanship that once defined this 1800s home. Every profile, panel, proportion and even the door hardware is being thoughtfully recreated to feel as though it has always belonged here.

A palette of soft sage, misty blue, warm neutrals, and crisp whites sets the tone, while marble surfaces, vintage-inspired fixtures, and delicate tile details add timeless character.

A cozy sitting area just off the kitchen... don’t mind if we do. ✨ One of our favorite transformations in the Mattei House has been creating a space that feels just as inviting as it is functional. What was once an underutilized area is now a comfortable extension of the kitchen - perfect for morning coffee, catching up with family, or simply enjoying the heart of the home.

These before and after photos are a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful spaces are the ones designed for slowing down and staying awhile.

Designing a bedroom that feels calm, collected, and effortlessly layered. 🌊🤍 The Bay Cottage master bedroom brings together soft coastal hues, subtle pattern play, warm woods, and natural textures to create a space that feels tranquil without feeling too formal.

Mixing patterns and tones thoughtfully allows everything to feel interesting while still maintaining that relaxed, restful atmosphere we wanted for this home.
