Just in from !

Who would have known that oyster plates are what brought eating oysters into a delicacy. In the mid-1800s oyster plates were introduced in order to save fine china from the shells that would ruin an expensive porcelain. A genius idea to have fine plates made with individual wells for raw oysters and a center molded for cocktail sauce or butter.

They are incredibly beautiful. So much so that you will find them hanging in homes on “plate walls”. Show us your plate walls (bonus if you have oyster plates)! Post in the comments below.
