I could just fall into those big brown eyes of yours forever.

Adopting a puppy was not the plan but I just fell in love. He is sassy and so full of personality. Getting him to stop biting has been a thing and trying to play with every dog. What was I thinking????

But I never, ever knew what I was doing with all the adopted kids and dogs and cats ever in my life. And it all worked. They had better lives, I had a better life. Win win all around.

I love it when all our worlds collide! Working with the lovely of on these amazing creative trips to Spain has been a joy!

Liesl and I met years ago when I was in the creative world. She used to come to RPS and teach fabulous workshops. We carried her lines of fabric and patterns.

Ten years ago, Liesl decided to make Madrid her home. Being the creative she is, she has become deeply rooted in the creative scene there.

I am so excited to blend my new travel world with her Madrid creative world to bring small groups to see and experience HER world there. You meet the friends, shop in her secret shops, take the workshops and see Madrid like you never could on your own - all while hanging out with Liesl and a small group of other creatives!

Forgive a story here …

Way back in ‘18, before the world changed, I went to Uganda with this amazing crew. Joanne Connerty Denise Rosa Burcksen Kathleen Evans Terri Yurek Bodnar. We were nicknamed the “Gorilla Girls” and we still wear that name proudly and with love. They are the BEST crew to travel with ever!!!!

I fell deeply in love with this beautiful country on that trip and have been an outspoken ambassador ever since.

But maybe the most special moment came when Eric Ndorere , our guide extraordinaire for the trip, asked the five of us to help he and his beautiful wife, Edith, choose a name for their daughter. We all chose a name for a girl that starts with “E” and tossed it into the hat and then Eric and Edith chose their favorite. And then he raced off, after seeing us to off on our plane, to be there when she was born.

I am honored and humbled to be leading an amazing group of travel advisors to Uganda in a couple of weeks on behalf of the embassy and government of Uganda.

But I think my highlight will be meeting the beautiful young girl, Elena. Who we named. A version of my own daughter’s name Lena Pragana.

It is the people that we carry with us. Not the politics.

It is always the people. And I can’t wait to see Eric and his family. And meet the young girl who connects me and my daughter forever to this beautiful country.

A little fun for my fellow fabric junkies. We all had fun shopping for some chikan textiles, a gorgeous form of embroidery found in Uttar Pradesh, especially Lucknow. I think we all chose well. 😊

I am still trying to take this all in. Being at the “end of the world” as we know it. Tierra Del Fuego is so beautiful and wild and still relatively untouched.

And then I did actually make it to the end of the world. I crossed the Drake and am now in Antarctica.

I will share photos when I come up for air. You all know I have traveled to amazing places but I have never felt so grateful or privileged to have traveled anywhere before.

I have been celebrating on the outside but I need a moment for the rest of me. I am in Antarctica. I want to let that sink in.

So happy and grateful to have exercised my right to vote!

I love voting. It makes my little voice feel heard and it reminds me it is just as important as everyone else’s.

School boards and judges and town council. It all actually matters. Not just every four years.

Voting is not a burden. It is a privilege and I am grateful to have participated once again.
