🌻🎡 Fair Prep Step 4: Make your arrangements!
- Soak foam days in advance to hold as much water as possible ( that gym gets hot).
- Follow guidelines in fair book.
- Be creative!
- Cool your arrangements until time to deliver ( I recommend Wednesday morning).
- Water well right before delivery. I also use flower food to try to boost longevity.

🌻🎡 Fair Prep Step 3: Place all of your single specimens in clear bottles.

NO leaves down in the bottle, ever ( that is a floristry no-no).

Try your hardest to have a balanced bottle to flower ratio. You don't want a tiny viola in a huge vase.

If your flower tilts or falls to the mouth of the vase, you can use plastic wrap to hold it in place or boost it to. You can use rocks in vases to weight heavier specimens down.

🌻🎡 Fair prep step 2: Cut all of your flowers! Find the cream of your crop. You don't want bug holes or torn petals, ideally ( but sometimes, that's all you have). Cut stems long, can always go shorter later. Keep cool and out of direct sunlight.

I had the privilege of doing these 2 arrangements for husbands that absolutely adore and love their wives! Guys, if it's not with flowers ( even though that's what I highly recommend😁), please, take time to show your lady just how much they mean to you. While Brad can't really show me love by giving me flowers, he shows it by supporting the flower craziness. 🤪😜🥰

Arrangements for The Curly Maple tomorrow! These aren't my typical artistic pieces, but more of a dahlia "showcase." Each jar is filled with dahlias. With 569 plants and over 100 varieties in our gardens, they deserve the spotlight.

These are donation only. Give what you can and enjoy. Proceeds to benefit Mike and Lisa Jamison.

* With dahlias, change water often, keep cool and out of direct sunlight.

* No arrangements next week. It's fair week! Come see our flowers at the fair. 🥰
