Gifts I made for my parents for Christmas this year!
- the iris was inspired by a book my mom wrote and published a little over a year ago. The white iris was a family heirloom, of which has been passed down to at least the 4th generation by now. She wrote a story based on that family heritage of my great grandparent and how their faith in God was woven through the fabric of their lives. When my mom autographs a book, this is one the phrases she uses as part of her signature.
- the shirt was an idea my dad had years ago (way before I learned embroidery) and it just kind of sat in the back of my mind. When this year rolled around, I knew I wanted to do a mixed media on this piece. So this was a first time putting heat transfer vinyl and embroidery together! But I love it. There’s so much symbolism in every aspect of it.

My parents loved both of their gifts!! It’s hard to get something for your parents the older you get, because I feel like they truly have everything. But it’s the thought and meaning behind these that made these so special to them. ❤️

This project is technically unfinished and it’s a personal project I embarked on. I wanted a journal to go with a particular Bible study I’m doing right now and the center phrase is kind of a focus of the study. But there have been significant verses that have stood out to me in the process. My intent is to fill in more of the circles with more scriptures that stand out to me as I continue in this study. I’ll update when I complete it! Art can be a work in progress, as can we. We must just be patient with the process and trust the Author of our stories 💗

My hubby’s Christmas present!! 🥰
He’s a big Star Wars fan so I made the letters from a Star Wars romper all 4 of our babies wore and embroidered around them.

✨There are 5 golden stars embroidered throughout the letters represent all our babies, one of which is waiting on us in heaven.
✨There are also 5 golden stars on the sleeve representing the same, but 4 hearts (representing our earth side babies) turned in toward each other and embroidered to look like tie fighters.
✨the tie fighter hearts each have our children’s first initial on each heart are purposefully on the right sleeve so he can put their hearts over his heart at any time 🖤🤍

Recently, I became a new vendor for Shelby County Schools (💃🏻praise break!! Now that all the kiddos at church have received their gift, I can post about it! Our children’s pastor asked me to design and make the Christmas gift this year for the kids to coincide with the theme of their Christmas program which was about leaving a legacy of God, no matter how young they are! From what Mrs. Barbara told me, they all loved them and were so excited to wear them!!

Just finished painting these journals 😍😍😍 I love the tiny details in all of these. Hidden gems, if you look close enough. It kinda reminds me of how God is in the big things, but He’s also minute, mundane details, often working behind the scenes.

This was a very special, unique, custom piece made for a miracle baby who’s making her way into the world very soon. All of her siblings are already in heaven and this pregnancy has not been easy for her mama. But despite it all, this baby girl is growing and healthy! What a miracle!

When her grandmother came to me about making something for her soon-coming granddaughter, she gave me this scripture and told me that the nursery would be a forest theme and asked me to come up with something. I prayed and sketched and felt like the Lord had given me a very specific vision in my head. And as I stitched each thread, and painted each letter, it’s like the Lord was just working through my fingers. I knew that I wanted this piece to be unique because of this precious girl’s story. It needed to be deeper than just a painting like I normally do (which was the original plan). When I handed the finished piece to this precious grandmother, tears flowed in a constant stream down her face. That is the moment that I just love to witness and experience. It’s the connection and the meaning, not just of who it’s for but the scripture that has given her daughter hope through some of the hardest times. She told me “It’s even more beautiful than I could’ve imagined.” And “You can tell it’s been prayed over.” Oh the joy that flooded my soul. I know the Lord was using my hands as His vessel to make this piece a point of constant ministry to them through His word.

I know this was long, so thank you for reading. This story was just absolutely worth sharing! I love what I do and am so thankful I get to do it!!!
