🥰🍴 To all of our amazing Valentino’s customers over the years… we have some exciting news to share!

We are so happy to see new life happening in downtown Montevideo, and we want to congratulate the new crew at Lenny’s Silver Spork on their soft launch! 🎉

After serving this community for nearly 30 years, Valentino’s will always hold a special place in our hearts. Seeing the building filled with people, food, laughter, and new memories again is something truly special. ❤️

To our loyal customers — if you loved gathering downtown, supporting local businesses, and sharing meals with family and friends, we encourage you to stop in and welcome the new team. Small-town businesses thrive because of community support, and Montevideo has always been wonderful at that.

I am absolutely heartbroken this morning. 💔
Many of you know Melissa Rodeberg, David and Denise’s daughter. She worked at Valentino’s for years and is someone who means so much to me. Her significant other Mark, Pam and Mel Haugerud’s son (Mel is my mom’s cousin), is also very close to our family.

Last night, Melissa and Mark lost everything in a devastating house fire. Thankfully they are safe, but their home and all of their belongings are gone. I cannot begin to imagine the shock and heartbreak they are facing right now.

After nearly three decades, Valentino’s has officially been sold and this chapter of our lives has come to a close. Since opening our doors in January 1997, this business has been such an important part of our lives.

This was not an easy decision, as Valentino’s was never just a restaurant to us. It was our life’s work. It was early mornings, late nights, and countless memories made with so many wonderful people. We had the privilege of watching families grow, sharing in your celebrations, and getting to know so many of you as friends, not just customers.

We are deeply grateful for the support this community has shown us over the years. Your kindness, loyalty, and familiar faces meant more to us than words can ever express.

We would also like to sincerely thank Tim Burns for his professionalism and guidance throughout the sale. Tim has been not only a trusted realtor, but also a longtime friend and former neighbor, which made this transition all the more meaningful to us.

We wish the new owners success as they begin their own journey and hope this space continues to be a place where people come together.
