Spent the morning in Birmingham talking with high school students about what it’s like to run a design business, and it was such a fun morning! An extra treat was spotting a few of our clients’ children in the audience. 🤍
It felt especially fitting to share this recently completed Birmingham project—a sweet teenage daughter’s bedroom and hangout space designed just for her.
It’s such a privilege to do what I do, and I always love the opportunity to share our work and encourage the next generation of creatives!
And, the icing on top was seeing some of my most favorite people!

This sitting room gives me all the happy feelings. Is there anything better than the sound of a piano playing through the house? It brings back such good memories of learning how to play, listening to my Mom play, and now hearing my own littles do the same.
There’s something so special about a lifelong skill that carries with it such a strong sense of home, family, and nostalgia.

The back to school routine officially begins today! My crew is off to 10th, 8th, and 4th grade! I just really need time to stop, and I would like 2 more weeks of summer. I’m trying to get excited about earlier bedtimes, clean uniforms, a little bit of structure and homework…but I am really going to miss the freedom of summer!!
