I haven't posted anything in a YEAR.. I'm getting a website designed to navigate my work easier - but I have to share this!

I've been looking for a functioning vintage card catalog for a few years, and was lucky enough to find one from the Cornell University library.

I drove it home in the back of the van & got to work making my dream buffet - after a couple weeks and an immeasurable amount of sanding, I am finished 🤗

A couple months ago, I shared some pictures of custom headboards I built for a gorgeous new construction up at the lake. This hall table was installed today to compliment that design.
I cleated it to the wall to give a floating effect. The 'legs' are actually decades old porch supports. I cut off the 45* angles at the top and bottom to stand straight & then used a grinder to clean them up and smooth out the chipped paint.

This is by far the largest & heaviest piece I've built. The request was simply "a table and bench that would fit in a castle & last forever". So here it is, at 10 ft long by 4 ft wide. The bench is an 18" slab, just under 10 ft long.
The 2" raw oak planks were hand picked by the client, each weighing about 40lbs. Then, hours and hours of sanding. I began with 40 grit, next 80, and finishing out with 120, then stained a dark walnut.
To hold the nearly 300lb surface, I modified the traditional pedestals by adding angled stretchers that extended to the outer supports.
Conservatively, this table can seat a dozen people in his castle - and even a throne at the head!

My favorite NY client, Allison, commissioned a divider door to be hung on a rail in her apartment. She gave me artistic license, only asking that it blend with the island & console delivered in July. I cant wait to see it hanging!

Another opportunity to work with the insanely talented Kellie Guthrie and Re-invention out on Lake Martin. The client found some beautiful barn wood out at White Acres and asked to have it turned into headboards.

Measuring 80"W x 72"H (against wall) & 80"L x 63"H (window) And weighed nearly 200 lbs each, so they are cleated to the wall. (Highly suggest this method!)

To keep the aged look, I used a rough grinder rather than a sanding route. This cleaned the boards of all dirt and splinters, giving it a smooth to the touch feel while maintaining a vintage texture.

I've been working with JR Marshall Designs and her sweet client, Dawn, as she remodeled her kitchen.
Although the original design changed - to add length for a 'floating' bar, the finished project is exactly what she had envisioned. Having it there by her birthday was just a little bonus :)

Top is planed pine planks with ogee routes measuring 90"L x 36"W. Finished with Provincial stain & poly.

Base measures 62"Lx 34"W.

I will follow up with pictures of the matching vent hood soon!

Piece #2 & 3 headed to NYC - Allison found a console at Restoration Hardware that she liked, however it needed to be scaled down to fit her space & wanted t change a few elements so it blended with the kitchen island & her existing furniture. I used the tin and hardware from the island, rather than glass doors & used a sample tile to match the oak stain from her chairs.

The last picture is a box to hide the wall phone she uses to buzz up all those swanky NYC friends - hopefully I'll be on the other end in a couple weeks to see how it all comes together in person!

Loved building these cool tables for one of my favorite clients. She liked a particular style, (first picture) but wanted to add in the colors of her accent pillows (2nd) So, thanks to some really beautiful new Aqua and grey stains, these turned out to be exactly what she wanted. Thanks, Megan!

Finished! This divider island is the first of 2 pieces headed to NYC. The second picture is what the client sent me.. Needing very specific measurements to fit the space in her home. Due to the odd size space and angle of the left side, a door was not an option. So... We fix it with wine storage! (A very random obligatory nod to Mario Andretti & his wine cellar design)

Can't wait to see this in her home! Allison Clarke Cebulski
