Nothing intimidates me more than, “Just do something with it, I trust you,” but I must say, after many hours of staring at it asking, “What am I supposed to do with you?!” I am very happy with how this skull turned out for Aleigh Taber!

Oh my, this was a FUN project! Working from two different images and with two different burning tips to create this portrait, I was definitely challenged to sketch the shadows that are there, not the shadows I *think* should be there. Detailed work will challenge you that way!

One of the more challenging boards I’ve ever done was this image of an old barn—the innumerable shadows made the project rather intimidating, but extremely slow shading, several hours of patience, and knowing when to step away and try again with fresh eyes produced a piece I’m rather proud of!
