Why is it I want to paint the most when I’m busy with other “life” obligations?

There are some nights I’m so exhausted from running my small business and being mom that I just want a bubble bath and bed. It takes forever to get situated before I get into the painting zone. When I do though, I could stay up all night painting.

Painting is one of the few things in life that brings my soul peace. My stress and anxiety melt away. My worries get swept up in the colors on the canvas.

So here’s to hoping I make more time for painting.

It has been months since I’ve sat down to paint for myself. It is SO GOOD for my soul!

In January, I officially launched my instructional design business. I have been working full time getting that launched, working as a contractor with a boutique instructional design firm, and writing a ton of fiction.

It’s crazy the waves 🌊 creativity take. I can be hyper creative in one aspect of my life but I have to step back from others.

Do you do this? Do you find yourself focusing on one creative outlet at a time? Do you find yourself needing to step away so your brain can focus on something else for awhile?
