So the latest cutting board was a challenge. My daughter bought a cutting board for her friend's wedding gift (don't worry she got the family and friends discount), bit she wanted a twist. She wanted their first initials not just engraved, but inlayed with a lighter colored wood. So here it is. A walnut, with cherry and maple accents. And ash inlaid lettering

Ever have a thing that you were doing that took up most of your time, while you figured out how to do certain steps? If so, then you understand what this project was like. As a gift to my Father In Law for Father's day, my Mother In Law and Wife had an idea, and I ran with it. Here it is, a 2 tower drink dispenser. I used unions to make it easier to replace the bottles, and each side has its own cutoff valve as well.

The base is heavy: Walnut and Cherry encompassing white oak plywood for a shell, with walnut drawers. Each drawer is big enough to hold 2 lowball whiskey glasses.

Newest project, custom, handmade coasters with built in bottle openers. Perfect for your cold drinks, or to open that bottle without having to search the kitchen. Made from Walnut, Cherry, and Maple, treated with Mineral Oil and finished with a waterproof wax finish (not food safe, as they are not intended to come in contact with food). This was a fun project, and these are for sale (Set of 4).

In case anyone is wondering, yes, I do sell these items (most are custom made). Shipping and handling is on the client however, but we can always work out a price. Cost of wood varies, and when I get a discount, I try to pass it on as well, but in the end I have to value my time. For example:

Hard wood, edge grain cutting boards: $80-100, plus shipping
Large planters (local only): $50
Noodle Board (Oven Covers): $75 plus shipping
Night stand Valet / Dice trays - $40
Blanket Ladders (Local only): $60

Just a couple of other projects. The first is a Hardwood cutting board with Juice groove; made from Walnut, Hard Maple, and Cherry, finished with Mineral oil and Beeswax to be food safe. The second is a Cedar Plantar, around 16x16x16. Can be lined with garden mesh to use directly as a planter, or as decorative façade for a potted plant.

(re)Starting out woodworking is expensive! Thank you to MacBeath Hardwoods for all the assistance and the great selection! Soon I will be making some edge grain cutting board, thinking Walnut, Maple, and Cherry to start, but Paduk looks good too!
