Dad said that after a certain age you start counting half years again like when you were six or seven.
Dad loved life. He loved living. And more than anything he loved telling stories about the amazing experiences and adventures that life took him through.
If you ever ran into him sitting at the front of the store Iβm sure you may have heard a piece or part of a story. He had a wonderful mind for detail and it always felt like βliving historyβ.
He could take you back to 1961, flying over the Mediterranean Sea and landing in beautiful Palma, Spain or later years dangerously dropping cargo in Vietnam yet always somehow turning the storyβs focus to remembering a delicious meal he shared later that evening.
This Saturday, May 2nd, Backshore Living will open late (1pm - 5pm) as tomorrow morning we will be remembering Dadβs life and the legacy of stories he has left us.
